Senior Plastic Consumable Engineer
Summary of Position:
Erbi is a growth-stage startup with a mission to streamline cell culture with products that simplify bio-pharma and cell therapy process development and manufacture. We are looking for talented, diligent, growth oriented plastic consumable engineers to help progress our core technology in the Research group and develop integrated cell processing devices and fabrication methods.
Role and Responsibilities
Consumable engineers play an integral role on our iteration teams by the design and development of fluidic devices for cell processing. This includes developing fabrication processes, designing and fabricating prototypes, executing system tests, and carrying lessons learned into subsequent iteration cycles. They are also responsible for contributing to team learning by exploring different fabrication methods, fluidic device concepts, and applications and educating the group. Work will be centered around developing consumable devices for cell processing unit operations.
Key areas of responsibilities include:
- Development and characterization of plastic bonding and joining methods
- Development of plastic fabrication methods
- Design and development of fluidic consumables
- System design and development
- Device fabrication and test
- Test setup fabrication, data acquisition
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Ideal candidates will have experience reducing to practice at least one fluidic system or developing fabrication processes for manufacturing fluidic devices. This can be through work experience, or thesis projects.
- Good mechanical intuition
- Familiarity with fabrication methods, expertise in at least one
- Ability to learn by conducting controlled experiments
- Ability and desire to learn new skills
- Tenacity, grit
- Experience seeing a product go from concept to market a plus
- Programming skills, especially Python and Matlab a plus
- Familiarity with G-code a plus
- Solidworks a plus.
- Aseptic technique and cell culture laboratory experience a plus
